Rains in Mumbai…

Here was my first mini adventure in the rains. I am experiencing rains in Mumbai after a long time! A couple of days ago, the rains started heavily and continued through the next day. I started to go to office but wouldn’t get an autorickshaw. There is this heavy downpour, no autos in sight and lots of people competing for any auto that would come along!
I tried to call up another girl who stays in the vicinity to find out if the bus had already left our regular bus stop. Thankfully the bus was late too.
Now I stood in this lashing rain for a good 20-25 mins and was just about to turn around and head back home when an auto comes along and believe me, agreed to go where I wanted to! So there I hopped into this rick and started. I also came to know in the meanwhile that my bus had left my stop. So I requested this driver to follow the bus and he flatly refused! Yeah refused to go beyond the earlier point. I had to actually plead him and say I’d pay extra. He finally agreed and I managed to board the bus only after making the bus stop for a couple of minutes.
But yeah didn’t have to miss work because of not getting an auto which was an achievement.
We were left early from work due to the heavy rains as well!
